Sales & Marketing: Ticket Sales
Experience Coordinator-Ticket Sales - Kentucky Speedway (Sparta, KY)

This department is seeking a candidate who is interested in event ticketing sales. This position will work with Motorsport ticket promotions, sales initiatives, and ticket fulfillment. The Ticketing department looks for someone who is energetic and able to multi-task in a fast-changing environment. Compiling and maintaining database information is also expected. 

Role and Responsibilities:    

  • Services existing accounts, obtains orders, and establishes new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential sales leads.

  • Promote and sell season, group and individual ticket packages.

  • Generate ticket sales revenue through heavy phone sales.

  • Keep management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and feedback on customer satisfaction.

  • Recommends changes in products and services, also including upselling strategies for a better racing experience.

  • Make a minimum of 50 outreach calls per day from provided lead lists & prospecting.

  • Meet or exceed daily call expectations and yearly sales goals.

  • Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; making recommendations to management.

  • Handle all incoming sales/service calls.

  • Effectively execute sales campaigns and training set forth.

  • Efficiently manage workday as determined by Management.

  • Maintain computerized records of clients and prospects with our Tickets.com system.

  • Assist customer service efforts during renewal campaigns.

  • Help organize and execute departmental mailing strategy.

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by managers.

  • Assist with all event responsibilities regarding race day operations.

  • Ability to travel to various shows and events that promote Kentucky Speedway in a positive manner.

  • Promote fun and excitement around KYS Mission Statement.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.

  • Able to work extended hours as required, especially surrounding large events.

  • Previous experience in phone sales, outside sales, customer service or retail sales is beneficial.

  • Have a professional demeanor.

Kentucky Speedway is seeking a highly-motivated and dedicated intern to join our Graphic Design department for the summer.  The primary responsibility of this position will focus on gaining hands on experience in the motorsports industry through various design projects.  This is an opportunity to work with a highly skilled group of people on a variety of challenging initiatives.  At Kentucky Speedway you’ll find our culture to be exciting and very fast-paced. 

Areas of Focus include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assist in creating promotional flyers, banners, email blast and materials for various events.

  • Assist in day-to-day renderings, mock-ups, and editing of existing pieces.

  • Assist in sign shop including printing and installation.

Skills and Attributes:
• Video shooting and editing experience is strongly recommended.  Editing, preferably in Avid or Pinnacle

Events Intern – Kentucky Speedway

As an Intern at Kentucky Speedway in the Events Department, you will have the opportunity to gain experience in the field of event management and production.  This internship will teach the importance of strategic planning, organization, coordination, and communication skills within many areas. The events department at Kentucky Speedway oversees a variety of areas including, but not limited to: credentials, camping, gate operations, and event staff training.

This internship will prepare you with a better understanding of the process and preparation that goes into planning and working at a race facility.

Interns may work 40 hours per week and must be available to work weekends during the races.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Credentials 

  • Create credential boards and notebooks for gate entrances.
  • Allocate wristbands for camping.

  • Document paper credentials for Media.

  • Assist with credential mail out.

Camping/ Information Booths

  • Create reference books for each campground and information booth (i.e. maps, credentials, policy guidelines, etc).

  • Put together camping welcome packages and information booth materials.

  • Campground set up (i.e. tents, staging area, tables, chairs, etc.).

  • Administrative duties.

Gate Operations

  • Set up fencing / cooler checker tables for gates

  • Put up credential boards at all gate access points

  • Deliver food to staff

Event Staff Training

  • Assist with check-in at training sessions

  • Update and maintain email lists for online training

  • Update training materials

Miscellaneous

  • Assist with Speedway Children’s Charity  fundraisers

  • Interns must be able to lift a minimum of 30 pounds.

Senior Director of Business Development - Corporate Sales Executive - Kentucky Speedway (Sparta, KY)

Position Overview:
A senior level corporate sales and account management position within the Kentucky Speedway sales department located in Sparta, Kentucky. This position will focus primarily on contacting potential sponsors, developing targeted marketing programs and selling integrated event partnerships for all events at Kentucky Speedway. Qualified candidates must have a strong sports sponsorship background and possess the organizational and management skills to develop and execute creative sales and marketing programs. Candidates must be self-starters capable of driving creative and comprehensive marketing alliances and partnerships.

Responsibilities
• Responsible for growing corporate sales revenue specifically by selling fully integrated sponsorship packages to new and existing business clients.
• Develop, present, and sell customized partnership packages.
• Create, present and sell other inventory including hospitality and suites, signage, print advertising and event display space.
• Reach sales revenue targets for the season and each major event.
• Research potential clients and determine opportunities to enhance their marketing and sales objectives via Kentucky Speedway’s available inventory.
• Heavy cold calling and prospecting for potential new business.
• Work within a team environment in collaboration with other Kentucky Speedway sales executives.
• Ensure sponsor contracts include promotional commitments that assist the company in building the Kentucky Speedway brand as well as assist in building event attendance and revenue.
• Research industries and companies, prepare presentations, and sell all assigned inventory and achieve net review goals assigned by category as well as total net revenue objective assigned.
• Reach sales revenue targets for the season and each major event.
• Assist in the coordination and execution of all sponsorship programs.
• Participate in facility events and productions as needed.
An ideal candidate will have at minimum the following qualifications and competencies:  

5 years minimum experience in sports sponsorship sales 
• Knowledge of the motorsports industry
• Basic knowledge of contracts and procurement a plus
• Good interpersonal skills, with ability to develop and maintain business relationships
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
• Proven negotiation skills and strong conceptual and strategic thinking ability
• Strong customer satisfaction orientation
• Excellent organization and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency with presentation tools such as data management & salesforce.com
• Consultative sales style, prospecting skills, and a desire to identify new business opportunities
