Communications Specialist - New Hampshire Motor Speedway (Loudon, NH)

Summary:
New Hampshire Motor Speedway,  the largest sports and entertainment facility in New England, is seeking a highly-motivated and dedicated professional to join our communications department. The primary responsibility of this position will focus on written communications while also working on advanced media for the speedway.

Job Responsibilities:
• Writes and edits press releases, features, website copy, souvenir program stories, fan guide.
• Assists with development, editing and proofing of all corporate materials.
• Assists in planning and execution of all publicity events.
• Assists with media outreach, pitching, clip reports and keeping contacts up to date.
• Assists in managing the press box and media center during major events.
• Helps with day-to-day department activities, promotions and projects.
• Leads intern(s) to a path of success and project assistance within the department.

 Skills and Attributes:
• Strong writing and editing skills are essential.
• Master of AP Style formatting.
• Has an eye for detail and stylization within projects.
• Ability to contribute creative ideas and concepts.
• Is a go-getter who takes initiative on projects.
• Ability to make quick decisions in a fast-paced ever changing environment while keeping a positive attitude.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet multiple deadlines.

Experience and Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations, corporate communications or similar field.
• A minimum of two years of related work experience.
• Two to three years of writing experience. Writing samples are required.
• Experience with PR clipping services (Cision, TV Eyes), press release distribution services and social media monitoring platforms.
• New England media contacts and positive working relationships is a plus.

New Hampshire Motor Speedway Gift Shop is hiring! We are looking for a responsible person who will be able to maintain the daily operation of the gift shop.  Duties would include operating a cash register, stocking merchandise, light dusting and folding shirts. You would also be assisting customers with finding the perfect gift to remember their experience!

Position Overview:

New Hampshire Motor Speedway is seeking a confident and creative self-starter to join their business development team in the role of Sr. Account Executive. Ideal candidate will generate revenue for New Hampshire Motor Speedway through the sale of fully integrated event sponsorships, private suites, corporate hospitality and on-site fan engagement events.

Ideal candidates will have an enterprising mindset and self-confidence and drive to cultivate relationships with corporate leaders throughout the greater Boston and New England markets through research, cold calling, local networking events and face-to-face meetings.

Qualified candidates must possess the organizational and communication skills necessary to function in a high-energy, multi-event team environment and be willing to travel, work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Create, present and implement customized partnership packages via available speedway inventory

  • Ability to negotiate with “C” level executives

  • Leverage a consultative sales style to bring new partners into our sport

  • Cultivate new business opportunities for local, regional and national businesses

  • Achieve event and season revenue targets

  • Consistently setting up meeting and talking to potential clients

  • Work with existing partners to not only activate their partnerships but to also provide them with upsell opportunities

  • Work within a team environment in collaboration with NHMS sales executives and other Speedway departments

  • Travel as needed (both regionally and nationally)

Qualifications:

  • College degree

  • Self-motivated to develop new relationships

  • Strong relationship and customer service skills

  • A proven rolodex and contacts is a +

  • Proven negotiation skills

  • Proficient in presentation and data management software such as Powerpoint and Salesforce

  • Excellent organization and planning skill with the ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks on a daily basis

  • Proven cold-calling skills

  • Strong conceptual and strategic thinking ability

The New Hampshire Motor Speedway has a Ticket Sales Account Executive position open where you can learn the ins and outs of selling out a NASCAR race at the largest entertainment venue in New England.
