Tour Guide - Charlotte Motor Speedway (Concord, NC)

Tour Guides need to be high energy individuals that can engage the race fan during all Charlotte Motor Speedway’s daily tours and event time tours. Guides need to have a flexible work schedule and possess exceptional customer service and communication skills.

Job Responsibilities:
• Greet and provide top-notch customer service to all visitors of Charlotte Motor Speedway by effectively answering questions, providing directions, and selling tours.
• Provide safe tours to the general public and groups
               o  Feel the Thrill Tour
               o Over the Wall Tour
               o STEM Education Tours
               o Trackside Tram Tours during race week
               o NASCAR Hall of Fame Tours
               o Race Shop Tours
• Inform the Tour Services Manager when maintenance and care is needed on the tour vans.
• Solicit group tours and conventions to purchase daily tours
• Utilize Archtic ticket system by selling daily tours through it, adding customer accounts and doing end of the day ticket reports.
• Responsible for keeping scripts up-to-date and needs to be knowledgeable of the ticket packages available to fans.
• Responsible for fueling vans prior to usage and cleanliness of vehicles
• Enjoy working with fans of all ages
• Other duties as assigned
 

Requirements:
• Experience with Microsoft Office products, Outlook and PCs is required
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills
• Flexible and able to adjust to changing conditions and circumstances
• Flexible work schedule and willing to work weekdays, weekends and some evenings
• Clean motor vehicle driving record
• Able to operate a 15 passenger van
• Specialized knowledge of Charlotte Motor Speedway

The Events Department offers interns practical experience in the production and promotion of national, regional and grassroots events.
We are seeking quick-learning and self starting candidates who desire to gain an extensive working knowledge of NASCAR, short-track, drag racing, and static events. In addition to assisting in administrative and office duties, candidates will be required to assist with registration and sign in of competitors, lifting and moving of event supplies and equipment, ticket sales and various other race day duties. Additional non-event duties may include assisting other departments with promotional appearances, covering telephones, data entry, stuffing mailers, etc.
Ideal candidates must be a team player, customer-friendly, organized, outgoing, professional and able to deal effectively with frequent interruptions in a demanding environment. Due to the dynamic nature of the business, multi-tasking skills and the ability to think on the fly are a must. Excellent computer and customer relation skills are a must. The Guest Services and Logistics Department is seeking candidates who are self-starting and able to multitask in a fast paced environment. Security Intern-Summer 2012 - Charlotte Motor Speedway (Concord, NC)

Interns working in the Security Department will be responsible for assisting the officer on duty with attending to the first floor lobby office during normal business hours by answering guest's questions, answering the phone, and operating the camera system for potential issue. Daily activities include- locking and unlocking doors, gates, and offices; the signing in and out of keys; monitoring deliveries in and out of the building through the loading docks; and helping to make the public feel welcome and wanted. The Security intern will also help out other departments as needed, such as our Guest Services and Logistics team. PRN broadcasts live radio play-by-play NASCAR action and also syndicates five racing programs to over 700 stations nationwide. Track Services Department Intern - Summer 2012 - Charlotte Motor Speedway (Concord, NC)

The Track Services Department (Emergency Services/Emergency Management) is seeking candidates who are self-starting and able to multitask in a fast paced environment. Interns in this department need exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Responsibilities include event planning, staffing and guest assistance in time of need. Interns will help with the logistics of emergency action planning, emergency medical services, fire and life safety, track/SAFER wall preparation, on track emergency responders, and event management that is key to any event at CMS-especially the highly charged NASCAR events with over 150,000 fans in attendance. CMS is one of the busiest facilities in the country and this internship will help with track rental customers (Richard Petty Driving Experience), commercial shoots and concerts. Some emergency services experience would be helpful, but not a requirement. This is a hands on, fast paced internship. A lot of experience will be gained in event preparation and planning.
Intern must be able to work a minimum of 20 hours per week plus all events held during the semester.
Word and Excel Spreadsheet experience required.

We are currently seeking new groups to participate in Ushering and Parking for the upcoming events at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

This is a great way to maximize profits and be a part of the action. CMS will provide your group a fun, fast-paced, and exciting environment to reach your fund raising goals!

Responsibilities for Ushers:

  • Enthusiastically greets, escorts and/or directs guests to their assigned seat and answers questions concerning the facility, event and other information.
  • Ushers may be responsible for wristbanding, keeping aisles clear, and operating elevators.
  • Ushers will interact with guests to provide exceptional guest services.
  • Facilitate the resolution of ticketing and seating issues, guest complaints and contact with your supervisor to report any accidents or injuries.

Responsibilities for Parking Attendants:

  • Direct Charlotte Motor Speedway guests to proper parking lots safely and efficiently
  • Direct individuals with special parking passes to proper locations
  • Provide excellent customer service to fans, guests and employees. Respond to inquiries from guests regarding the facility, rules and regulations

Qualifications for Parking Attendants & Ushers:

Your group has an opportunity to volunteer as Parking Attendants and Ushers. Your group will be paid based on your groups availability and how many people you can provide on event day.

Do you provide training?
YES! The minimum requirement for training will be an online e-learning class but any additional training may be required.
