Job Description
We are currently seeking a graphic artist intern. Qualifications include working towards the completion of a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or a related field. Some experience/previous work required. The qualified candidate will be organized and detail-oriented to track projects, has ability to work independently and as a team player and the capability to meet deadlines. Intern will report to the Graphic Artist on staff, and will assist the Marketing and Promotion department in its efforts. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Microsoft Office is required, plus a working knowledge of HTML and flash. Photography experience is desired in the ideal candidate. Any experience with copywriting and Final Cut Pro/Express would be a bonus.
Internship will be an unpaid position. Course credit is available for students.
Responsibilities may include and be assigned as necessary:
- Work with the Promotions department to develop needed graphics and looks for the marketing of the facility and its events.
- Design artwork for direct mail, outdoor campaigns, print ads, online ads, brochures, and posters for advertising campaign for both the NASCAR and Thursday Thunder / Friday Night Drags events.
- Generate graphics for AMS website and email marketing campaigns.
- Assist in design and layout of the NASCAR souvenir program.
- Create materials for the ticket office – ticket stock, flyers, maps, fan guides, etc.
- Produce any facility needs: event signage, pace car design, invitations, materials for press events, etc.
- Construct animations for LED board.
- Support the sales department with logo creation and sales presentations.
- Interact with other departments on any other graphic needs that arise.
- Help develop shot list for AMS photographers for events.
- Serve as photographer for any PR or in-house events, as needed.

- Research new event ideas, vendors, and entertainment.
- Assist in the execution of all events, including LRRS, track rental, and NASCAR race weekends.
- Assist in day to day activities for operations of LRRS.
- Assist in managing Granite State Legend Car shop.
- Participate and help identify trade shows for Granite State Legend to attend.

Job Responsibilities:
- Research new event ideas, vendors, and entertainment.

Speedway Children's Charities (SCC) at Atlanta Motor Speedway needs highly motivated interns with a desire to excel. College students with a wide range of backgrounds and degrees can jump-start their careers in our event management program. The internship offers serious, career-minded students great work experience and the opportunity to form valuable relationships.
Semesters and Application Timelines
Internship positions will be available in the spring, summer and fall semesters. Applications will be reviewed in a reasonable amount of time after they have been received and eligible applicants will be contacted thereafter.

Who Can Apply and What's Expected
Credit earning college students who apply will be considered for internships. While sports management degrees are increasing in popularity, there is no course of study that is required for internships and all will be considered. This internship is great for any career-minded individual interested in event management.
Interviews
Qualified applicants will be called for an initial telephone interview in addition to a formal interview with the SCC staff.
Duties
The SCC intern assists in organizing events by detailing auction items and timelines during events and get hands-on experience by helping coordinate behind the scenes, maintains and compiles relevant databases and contact lists for better communication, assist in designing and implementing sponsorship proposals, compile public announcements and design marketing tools.
Office Hours
Applicants are expected to be motivated and be willing to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends during events.

Job Description:
This Internship program with the Events Department at Texas Motor Speedway provides college students the opportunity to gain experience in promotions, event planning and motor sports. The internship allows students to network with people within the motor sports industry and local community while working at one of the premier racing facilities in the United States. By the end of this internship you will have a better understanding of the process and preparation that goes into planning and working a variety of major events.
The internship will last one semester and all interns will have the opportunity to experience multiple events including a major race weekend. While this internship is unpaid, some of the work done during events and done while working as a part of our promotions team will be paid at an hourly rate. The schedule is flexible to allow you ample time to attend classes; however, there will be mandatory events required of the intern to attend.
Qualifications:
College Level Student- B.A., B.S. or majoring in communications, sport management, Kinesiology, marketing, or related field. Good organizational and communication skills, attention to detail and accuracy. Must be able to work any scheduled event nights and weekends that fall during the internship.

College Level Student- B.A., B.S. or majoring in communications, journalism, sport management, or related field. Good organizational and communication skills. Attention to detail and accuracy. Must be able to work any scheduled event nights and weekends that fall during the internship.
Candidate should have some background and familiarity with video production as well as experience with Final Cut Pro or similar non-linear editing software required.

Texas Motor Speedway Media Relations Internship
The internship program at Texas Motor Speedway provides college students the opportunity to gain experience in both public relations and motor sports. The internship allows students gain hand-on experience in the motorsports industry while at the same time allowing them to network with individuals in the industry. By the end of their internship they will have a greater understanding of the process and preparation that goes into a race weekend. The internship lasts the length of the semester and all interns will get to experience one race weekend. The internship is unpaid.
Expectations:
• All interns will conduct themselves in a professional manner. That includes proper dress and proper conduct during race weekend.
• Interns will report to their internship manager. Interns are required to contact their manager to notify if they will be late, absent or need to leave early on any given day.
• All interns will be treated as a regular employee of Texas Motor Speedway. They are to report to work on team each day (as assigned by their manager).
Qualifications:
College Level Student – B.A., B.S. or majoring in mass communications, journalism, communications, marketing, graphic arts, public relations or related field. Good organizational skills; attention to detail and accuracy. Must be able to work any scheduled event weekends that fall during the internship.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in the planning and execution of PR/media events
• Assist with the compilation and updating of daily clip reports
• Assist in the organization of the media center before and after races
