Night Time Event Staff Security Officer - Event Time Only - Charlotte Motor Speedway (Concord, NC)

Position Summary:

Charlotte Motor Speedway is looking for enthusiastic, hardworking and guest service oriented people to join the night time Security and Public Safety Department.  This is an EVENT-TIME position meaning security staff will ONLY work during events dependent upon staffing needs for each event.

Job Responsibilities:

·         Maintains security responsibilities and procedures during the evening/night

·         Conduct security inspections as directed

·         Control security risks through education and preventative measures

·         Assist with incident investigations, reports on findings, makes recommendations and take corrective actions as directed

·         Document all incidents for further investigation in the future

·         Circulate among fans, visitors and employees to preserve order and protect property

·         Responsible for gate control to ensure people with the proper credentials have access to restricted areas

·         Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Looking for applicants who are within a reasonable driving distance from CMS
  • Able to work from 6:00pm-6:00am

Tram/Shuttle Bus Driver - Event Time Only - Charlotte Motor Speedway (Concord, NC)

Position Summary: The Guest Services and Logistics Tram/Shuttle Bus driver will assist the Senior Manager; Guest Services in transporting guests while providing excellent customer service. The Tram/Shuttle Bus Driver position includes work at events at Charlotte Motor Speedway, The Dirt Track at Charlotte, and The zMAX Dragway assisting in conducting the overall operation of the transportation department.

Essential Functions:

Job Responsibilities:

• SAFELY transport guests to each CMS venue

• Greet all guests with a smile and engage them accordingly

• Inquire as to where they need to go

• Possess knowledge of facilities and overall property layout

• Answer questions about various CMS tram routes and event day happening

• Inspect overall safety, appearance, and cleanliness of all vehicles and report any issues to your event supervisor

• Handle special requests as assigned by your supervisor

• Trams/Shuttle buses are only used during specified events during the race season, and will be assigned shifts based on needs by the Guest Services Department.

Qualifications:

• 21 years of age or older

•Drivers with valid Class A, B, or C CDL with passenger endorsement preferred

• Clean driving record. Drivers must pass a motor vehicle report before being considered

• Friendly and personable. Excellent customer service skills required!

• This position requires extended hours (more than 12 hours) in ALL outdoor weather conditions

Facility Operations/Event Staff: Electrician
Facilities Technician Electrician - Charlotte Motor Speedway (Concord, NC)

SUMMARY:

Under limited supervision, performs a variety of semi-skilled work in the maintenance of Charlotte Motor Speedway properties; with a heavy concentration in electrical and other related duties as assigned.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

o    Troubleshoots maintenance problems involving electrical, structural, and equipment repair or replacement.

o    Performs preventive building maintenance duties, caulks windows and doors, repairs and replaces broken windows, roofing and other items as needed.

o    Performs all necessary electrical duties and repairs on CMS property.

o    Knowledge of or the ability to learn fire suppressions systems and daily, monthly and weekly checks.

o    Performs routine electrical repairs such as changing light bulbs or fluorescent lamps and assists in repairing ballast, breakers, track Musco Lights and other light fixtures.

o    Purchases supplies, equipment, and materials necessary to complete projects.

o    Repairs and replaces door knobs or locks, repairs door closures, patches holes in walls.

o    Work events and perform various duties as needed to make event successful.

o    Project management and planning skills for remodeling suites, lobby’s and other areas on property.

o    Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

o    Knowledge of trades related to building maintenance and electrical.

o    Knowledge of a variety of building maintenance procedures and techniques.

o    Knowledge of machinery, equipment, and tools necessary for the maintenance and repair of public buildings.

o    Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.

o    Skills in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.

o    Skill in using hand and power tools.

o    Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with CMS staff and the public.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work involves moderate to heavy work in all types of weather. There is frequent need to stand, stoop, walk, lift heavy objects and perform other similar actions during the course of the workday.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or GED and 2-4 year’s electrical/maintenance experience or equivalent. A valid driver’s license is required.

Event Camping Attendant - Kentucky Speedway (Sparta, KY)

As an Event Camping Attendant at Kentucky Speedway in the Events Department, you will be the first point of contact for our campers. In this role you will have the opportunity to meet and greet camping guests during race events, verify and scan camping credentials, give directions, and answer questions in a professional and friendly manner as the guests arrive at the Camping Check-in booth. In addition, you will work closely with security personnel to secure the campground entrances.

Camping Attendants may work up to12 hour shifts.

VICE PRESIDENT OF DEVELOPMENT AND OPERATIONS

 

Summary:  The Vice President of Development and Operations reports to the General Manager and is responsible for the leadership and management of all development and operational activities at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Development:  Responsible for all capital expenditures, ensuring that all expenditures are in the best interest of the corporation.  This includes a heavy emphasis on construction development and working alongside general contractors on various projects. This position requires a strong background in construction knowledge and procedure. Help guide the conception and application of executive visions for the company (from initial concept to the completion of the project).  To ensure that all expenditures drive revenue (both continued and created), and are in the best interest of the company on all projects.  This position is responsible for building and guiding fellow team members.   Ensuring that team members are executing the projects assigned accurately and on budget.  Also, the position will provide timely feedback and guidance for both subordinates and to fellow executives on development-related issues.  Most importantly, this position must ensure that the company’s best interests are represented at all times and to ensure that executives are presented with accurate progress reports on all projects.

Capital Expenditures:

?Help to establish and manage annually.

?Recommend and update progress on each item weekly.

?Control and set pricing expectations (executive controls).

?Ensure quality, longevity and need.

?Help to gain knowledge of “Want” items and pay back or   revenue growth from these projects.

?Help outline the “Needs” for executives.

Development Staff (team):

?Provide oversight and guidance.

?Aid in growth and work environment.

?Develop accountability for performance.

?Team building and development.

Projects: 

?Initiate concepts.

?Plan and create budgets for concepts.

?Provide oversight and guidance to project managers.

?Ensure project controls (budgets, schedules, quality)

Corporate Controls/Executive Duties:

Operations:  The VP of Development and Operations will be required to give guidance and oversight to team members.  Provide the facilities operation leads with the tools and support needed to ensure best management practices.  Create standards and expectations of the General Manager’s vision for the company’s future.

Operations/Non Event: 

?Help create checklist for facility operations leaders for preventative maintenance items.

?Aid in training and knowledge of preventative maintenance items.

?Ensure in the execution of preventative maintenance.

Daily Operations: 

?Be the conduit to create Best Management Practices between all facilities. 

?Be a consultant to issues or ideas on daily items or better cost controls. 

?Analyze staffing and needs of the facility.

?Ultimately be the facilitator that helps to bring the facility together to work towards our vision.

Operations/Event: 

?Aid in creating schedules for shared equipment (wreckers, jets, trams, etc.). 

?Aid in creating labor sharing between facilities for event time. 

?Create guidelines and manuals for wheel fence, safer wall and track repairs and maintenance. 

?Provide oversight and guidance for proper tools and training to each facility team during event time. 

?Give guidance to the sanctioning body for discussions or concerns during event weekends due to facility issues.

?Be available at major events for consulting or action items.

Requirements:  Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree from a four year college or university.  Advanced degree preferred. 

Must have a background in construction development, and working knowledge of construction procedures working with the speedway’s various general contractors.

Minimum of ten years of experience in a management position, project management and/or operations role.

Excellent managerial and leadership skills.

Time management and scheduling experience.

Must have experience with capital expenditures, budgeting and completing paperwork in a timely and proficient fashion. 

Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a results driven, team oriented environment.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Innovative and creative thinker.

Proficient computer skills.

Texas Motor Speedway LugNutz Scholarship Program

Job Description:

Texas Motor Speedway is looking for fun, energetic and outgoing people to work at Texas Motor Speedway as a LugNutz team member! LugNutz are a promotional street team that represents Texas Motor Speedway on race weekends as well as promotional events throughout the year. In addition to hands-on experience, valuable learning opportunities, the LugNutz will get paid to have fun! This position is great for marketing, communications, event sport management and advertising majors, but all majors are encouraged to apply.

Commitment:

  • Must commit to the LugNutz program for one (1) academic year with dates ranging from October 2017 to June 2018.
  • Must attend all race weekends at Texas Motor Speedway during the following dates: November 3-6, 2017, April 6-8, 2018, and June 8-9, 2018.
  • LugNutz must participate in thirty (30) hours of paid promotion events throughout the academic year, other than race weekends. Willingness to attend these events will be part of the scholarship consideration process.
  • Mandatory LugNutz orientation October 2017 and training session one (1) month prior to each race thereafter.

Qualifications:

  • Must be spirited and enthusiastic.
  • Must have high energy level and positive attitude.
  • Must have an outgoing and friendly personality.
  • Must have excellent crowd interaction and must be able to interact well with children.
